Methodology of the tests
A special application on a testing computer has created a defined number of
clients, for example 50, 100, 200, 500 etc. To a simultaneus starting command every
client sends its requirements to the XML Socket Multiuser Server at random in the period
from 0 to 20 ms.
In process of measuration we monitor some parametres:
1. The complete time of accomplishment of all the clients' requirements by the
XML Socket Multiuser Server.
2. Using the memory by the XML Socket Multiuser Server when accomplishing clients' requirements.
3. Using of the processor performance by the XML Socket Multiuser Server when accomplishing clients' requirements.
In the real operation the XML Socket Multiuser Server does not have to, of course, resist
to the pressure such as 500 clients being logged at the same time ( if it is not
a DOS attack) and that's why the testing of the XML Socket Multiuser Server, that we're
introducing here, can be considered as extreme. In the real operation is the
situation much more friendlier. The presented results do not depend on the XML
Socket Multiuser Server only, of course, but also on the configuration of the computer on
which the XML Socket Multiuser Server is run.
The better the computer is the better results of the test we get.
The tests are very important for the client when he decides which XML Socket Multiuser Server is most appropriate for him. If you are interested we can send you a testing XML Socket Multiuser Server-profi, which is not limited as regards the simultaneously connected users but it only works for 15 minutes. Then it is stopped. With this XML Socket Multiuser Server you can make your own comparative tests with other products. If you are interested in the testing version of XML Socket Multiuser Server, you can send us an e-mail on software@dmm.cz.
Parametres of computer used for the tests:
• Processor 1x Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz
• RAM 512 MB
• Windows XP
Connection of 500 clients:
1.The complete time of accomplishment of all the clients' requirements by the XML Socket Multiuser Server: 5.6 s
2.Using the memory of the XML Socket Multiuser Server when accomplishing clients' requirements: 14.2 MB
