What is an XTRA?
XML Socket Multiuser Server - eClever is not a finished development product.
It can be extended using modules called XTRAs. XTRA is a special and separate Win32 library communicating with the XML Socket Multiuser Server - eClever using a specific
protocol.
Using such extensions we can, for example, send mails from the XML Socket Multiuser
Server or connect to various databases, save results of measurements or connect
to applications CGI, ISAPI, PHP ASP.NET etc.
Types of Xtras
The XML Socket Multiuser Server - eClever uses 3 types of XTRAS. The first of them,
with the suffix
ecl, are used by the whole server. The second one,
with the suffix
ecs, is only used by the socket part of the server.
The third one, with the suffix
ech, is only used by the http part
of the server. All the XTRAS must be located in the folder XTRAS, that can be found
in the root of the XML Socket Multiuser Server - eClever.

The library pluginXLS is a tool to work with Microsoft Excel files in XML Socket
Multiuser Server - eClever. You don’t have to have installed Microsoft Excel,
Microsoft Jet Provider nor any other programs on your computer. The XTRA pluginXLS works autonomously
and it will enable you to work with remote XLS files in products such as Flash, Flex, Director, Authorware etc. |
